There's no sense denying
Something that's a part of you
There's no sense denying
Something that's a part of you
In a hurry? No worry, here it is!
I uncovered my passion for making music when I first picked up the guitar at age 7. From that point on, I've been hooked on singing and song writing.
I love doing covers but my real passion is writing my own music. Every moment has a story; a past and a future. When these moments worm in your head you just have to sing them out.
I find inspiration all around me. I try to make my music representative of myself and immortalize people and places in time.
I've always been a bit sensitive, at least on the inside. I'm pretty outgoing and laugh every chance I get. But like everyone else, I can be pretty insecure and quite a shit show on the inside. I'm grateful for my anxieties because they are the spark of a lot of my music and until... well, now...no one even knew I wrote music.
Music has always inspired me and songwriting has been a way for me to cope with my feelings. I'm hoping others can connect with my music and provide some ease that they may not be the only one going through a tough time.
I can't really say what genre of artist I am. I've had so many amazing influences. Artists like (young) Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Adele, Demi Lovato and Sam Smith, oh, and Kacey Musgraves!
But I'm also pretty spiritual and truly believe in spirit and how it guides and connects with each one of us. So I hold a lot of truth in that connection as well. If that makes me a Spiritual Soulful Country artist, then that's what I am. I don't think any musician can truly claim their art in a pull down menu!
Anywhere But Here is a collection of songs that Chloe Gurin began writing at age 13. Putting her daily stress and anxieties into lyrics, Chloe found song writing as an outlet for all things happy, sad and overwhelming. Using lyrics to cope with anxiety, and all to often say an unexpected good-bye, her truth was born in her art.
She began playing guitar and singing at age 7 and performed at open-mic night at a local church as a regular. The untimely passing of her beloved mentor was a turning point for her music lyrically and she truly feels him with her at all times in her craft.
This EP represents this turning point as she worked in collaboration with her vocal coach Jodelle to create the perfect marriage of music and lyrics.
